How do I locate articles with a full text finder button instead of a PDF icon?
Answer
How to Use Full Text Finder:
- Click on the Full Text Finder link and a page will open in a new tab with at least one option
- Under Resources Located for this Citation, it may say:
- Find this article in full text from ERIC - click the link to the ERIC database
- Check for full text at the publisher's site - click to go to the journal publisher and you may find the article available there
- Find this article in full text from [Name of Database] - click the link to go to that database
- Browse this journal at the Directory of Open Access Journals - click the link to see if you can find it in the DOAJ - if not, it is open access and might be found for free online
If you can't get to the article through Full Text Finder, try these suggestions:
- Install the LibKey browser extension
- Search for the article by title on the internet
- Email the author of the article - often they will share with peers who are interested in their research
- Request for us to borrow it from another library by using our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Request Form
- Try your local public library - if they don't have it, ask if they can borrow it for you
- Try your state library
