Data is information, and a database is a place where data is stored. A database is a way to organize data so that it is easy to access and manage. Most students will be familiar with the databases that are found in the ACE Library. Those subscription databases are digital collections of journals, periodicals, E-Books, and more which usually fall within a certain field of study. As examples, the Business Source Ultimate database focuses on business resources and the Education Source database focuses on education.
Most scholarly resources in our library databases require a subscription. That's why students need to log in to the ACE Library to access them. ACE pays hefty fees to provide library resources to students who wouldn’t be able to find the information elsewhere. Databases index many articles and other resources. They only include the full text for some of them.
